Winfax Pro v4.0 for Windows
DIP Switches: 3, 5, and 8 DOWN (ON)

CHANGE PORT:

Pull down the "Setup" menu, and select "Fax/Modem". Configure the port setting to match the port your modem is on.

CHANGE IRQ:

This program uses the settings in the Windows Control Panel.

INIT STRING:

Pull down the "Setup" menu, and select "Fax/Modem". The init string is automatically configured when you select a modem type, but the recommended string is "AT&F&H3&R2&I2S7=90\". All of our fax modems are listed in the modem list, with the exception of our v.FC/v.34 and newer modems. If your modem is not listed, select the one closest to it.

TERMINAL MODE:

Not available. This is a fax only program.

Note:

There has been an update to Winfax Pro 4.0 since the original release. Download and install "WFX401.EXE" to take advantage of the latest updates to the software.

Note:

There are known problems with the "Detect Busy" checkbox. It does not work.

Winfax Pro v3.06 for Windows:

You need to completely reinstall Winfax Pro v3.0 to change the port setting.

CHANGE IRQ:

This program uses the settings in the Windows Control Panel.

Pull down the "File" menu, and select "Program Setup". Click the "Fax/Modem" button, and change the init string to "AT&F&H3&R2&I2S7=90\".

TERMINAL MODE:

Not available. This is a fax only program.

Note:

The original versions of Winfax Pro v3.0 experienced problems sending and receiving faxes at 14,400. The "WFX306.EXE" update addresses this issue. If your current version of Winfax Pro is older than v3.04, you must first update to v3.04 using "WFX304.EXE" before installing "WFX306.EXE".

Winfax Lite v3.0 for Windows
DIP Switches: 3, 5, and 8 DOWN (ON)

CHANGE PORT:

You need to completely reinstall Winfax Lite v3.0 to change the port setting.

This program uses the settings in the Windows Control Panel.

INIT STRING:

There are different version of Winfax Lite v3.0. Depending on your version, you will have to pull down different menus. In the earlier versions, you have to pull down the "Fax" menu, select "Setup", then click the "More" button to change the init string. On later revisions, you pull down the "File" option, select "Setup", select "Fax", and then click on the "More" button. From here, change the init string to "AT&F&H3&R2&I2S7=90\".

TERMINAL MODE:

Not available. This is a fax only program.

Note:

USRobotics will only support Winfax Lite if it came bundled with our modem. You can tell if it is a bundled version, if the software's serial number begins with "MC USR".
