Hexen for DOS:
DIP Switches: 3, 5, and 8 DOWN(ON)

CHANGE PORT:

Run SETUP.EXE and select ‘Run a Network/Modem/Serial game’. Select ‘Modem’ and set the port to match your modem settings.

CHANGE IRQ:

This program has preset IRQ settings for each COM Port. These can not be changed.

INIT STRING:

To change the init string, open up a text editor and edit MODEM.CFG, located in your Hexen directory. The default init string works fine.

TERMINAL MODE:

Not available. This is a game..

Note:

This software initially sets your port rate to 14400. This is not compatible with our modems. Due to this, the modem will not respond to any init string sent to it. Edit MODEM.CFG with a text editor. There will be a line that says 14400 and nothing else. Change that line to read 19200 or 38400. Save the file, and the program will then work fine.
