Locate A Compatible Cellular Cable

We design cables that allow you to utilize the direct connect cellular capability of your PC Card. Throughout the rest of this Bulletin, we assume that you have acquired an appropriate cable. Only our cables are compatible with your 3Com Megahertz PC Card or your CruiseCard.

Connect Your Compatible Cellular Cable

Your compatible cellular cable has been designed to send commands to your PC Card. Attaching the cable automatically initiates features that are useful for a fax over the cellular network. These same features may get in the way of other types of tasks in non-cellular circumstances. Follow these steps to connect your compatible cellular cable, your phone and your PC Card.

  1. Use your communications software to prepare your fax or data connection.

  2. Stop at just the point before it will dial.

  3. Disconnect the land phone line from your PC Card.

  4. With the phone's power off, connect the cable to your cellular phone.

  5. Connect the cable to the modem. You may hear three beeps from the computer.
They are recognition tones. If you do not hear any beeps, that's OK. However, one beep means that your PC Card is not recognizing the cable.

  6. Verify that your cellular phone's power is on.

  7. Verify that your cellular phone is in Analog mode and that you have analog service in your area.

  8. Resume utilizing your communications software and dial out normally.
