Stabilizing Your Connection

Depending on the line quality and the connectivity of your Internet Service Provider (ISP), you may need to stabilize your connection by adding an extra AT command. To add an extra AT command, select your appropriate operating system below and follow the directions.

Windows 95/98/Me

  1. Click Start, Settings, Control Panel, and then Modems.
  2. Click Modem Properties.
    Note:If you have more than one modem listed, be sure to select the appropriate modem.
  3. Select the Connection tab and click the Advanced button.
  4. Enter ATS27=64 in the Extra Settings field.
  5. Click OK to save the settings for your modem.


Windows 2000

  1. Click Start, Settings, Control Panel, and then Phone and Modem Options.
  2. Click the Modems tab, Properties, and the Advanced tab.
  3. Note:If you have more than one modem listed, be sure to select the appropriate modem.
  4. Enter ATS27=64 in the Extra Settings field.
  5. Click OK to save the settings for your modem.
