I am having trouble placing a data call with my Motorola Startac 7790 Phone. What should I do?

Solution: Unlike most dual mode phones, the Startac 7790 will not automatically switch into analog mode when making a data call. The phone must manually be switched into analog mode by the user. The phone will also reset to dual mode each time the power is cycled on the phone so the phone will have to be switched before each data call is placed. The procedure to switch this phone into analog is as follows:
  1. Press FCN (Function) on the keypad.
  2. Press Menu (1) on the keypad.
  3. Press the Scroll Down on the side of the phone until Phone Options is displayed. Press Select, located on the side of the phone.
  4. Press Scroll Down until Call Mode Preferences is displayed. Press Select.
  5. Press Scroll Down until Analog Mode is displayed. Press Select.
  6. Press End on the keypad. You are now ready to place a data call with your Startac 7790 phone.
